It's Done! Almost.

Well, It's almost over. We have officially moved out of the house and our stuff is either in Walker or Shelby county(Some is at Al's parents and some is at mine). We are all very very tired and worn out. A sincere Thank You to ALL who helped especially Uncle Lumpy (or to the twins Uncle "Dumpy"). We could not have done it without all of you! All we have left is to get the papers signed bright and early Monday morning.
This picture of the girls was taken last weekend at The Dodson girls' birthday party. Don't they look like angels?? Looks can be deceiving ya know. I love 'em, more than life itself but man they get into everything, especially with their ring leader Clara Paige. They didn't know what to think about the house being empty today. Gracie walked into her room and asked me where her toys were. She led me into her room by the hand and said, " Mommy, My woom is just so emty." However, they enjoyed getting to run around the house without any furniture in it. Kim Lawson brought us lunch and helped us clean some today so while she was there my girls and hers played a game of Lawson vs. Hicks Hide-n-go Seek. Not sure who won but boy they had fun.
Well I'm pooped and think I'm going to put the munchkins to bed and get ready for another day of unpacking and sorting out.

Well tomorrow is my last day employed at Wells Fargo Insurance Services of Alabama Inc. (previously Duckworth Morris). I prefer the latter. Anyway, I'm not sure how I feel right now. I'm so excited to start our new journey in B'ham but I will be so sad to leave a place that was so good to me. I really worked with some incredible people there. I've grown up so much in the 5 1/2 years that I have been there. I had all 3 of my girls while employed there. I worked with two amazing agents and put a lot of who I am into that job. I have memories of working there that will never fade. I hope to have as good co-workers in my next job.
So, we close now Monday morning (30th) at 8am. I guess Alex will definitely have to pull me out of bed and get me there on time. However, I can't wait for that part to be over and the move to be over. We are all sleep deprived and cranky. Thanks to everyone who has already and will be helping us with this move. We love you all tremendously!!!

New Update!

I know it gets boring without pictures but we are so crazy busy and so much going on just no time and opportunity to work on it. I promise to do better once we get all moved in with my parents. OK New Update time: the closing has been officially moved to Monday, July 30th so my last day at work will be that day too. It's getting sad the closer we get to vacating Ttown but there's just really no time to think much about it. Maybe that's a good thing. No time to get too weepy.
I am, however, very excited to get to spend so much more time with my girlies in the next few weeks. I'll be working on finding a new job in Bham but I am so looking forward to having some time off to just let my poor brain relax for a while. I can focus on those precious little girls so much more and give my mom a well deserved break!!

This past weekend was jam packed too so we still have lots of packing to do before Friday. We went to Bailey and Emily Dodson's birthday party on Saturday which was a ton of fun. Clara Paige and I spent the night with them too which is always a fun treat for CP and Mommy. On Sunday we headed to a bridal shower for a long time friend of mine, Emily Jones. I'm actually in the wedding also in August so that should be fun too. The shower went fine and CP ate a bucket load of chocolate covered strawberries. Well that should get you all caught up and I'll be back soon to keep you up on all the news.

Hello everyone. Just thought I would take a minute to catch everyone up a little bit. We are closing on the house July 31st and we are actually moving out of it on July 27th. My last day at my job will be July 31st. We are busy as can be packing away our lives to move to Bham. We are so excited and ready to get the move over with. Hope everyone is doing well. Always remember to pray and have faith that God will answer and it will be his will not ours. Love to all!
By the way CP has announced to me that when we do get our "new" house that her room is going to be painted black. I told her tonight that she might change her mind before we actually get a new house. She reassured me by saying, "Mommy, don't you worry. I've made up my mind and I'm positive." That is what scares me!

WE ARE MOVING!!!

OK First things first!! We have sold the house and we are moving two Friday's from now!!!! YEAH! All your prayers and thoughts have been answered. THANK YOU! It's all happened very fast and my head is still swimming but I could not be happier! We close on July 31st!!!!! Yep that is in like two weeks. So we'll have to say goodbye to this home that has been so good to us and say hello to the rest of mine and Alex's dreams and plans for our family! God bless all those that we will be leaving but we'll keep in touch with all of you. We love you even if there is just too much Crimson and White here for us Tigers!
So we are working on potty training as you can see. It's going well but very very slowly.
Maggie as you can see here is doing pretty well. Gracie is taking a bit longer to get into the idea. I hope the move doesn't set us back any.
Our next exhibit shows what 3 little girls can do to a Mommy's closet in the blink of an eye. Actually mom tells me that they had been playin in my shoes which is not at all uncommon. However, they came to her so proud of themselves because they had "put my shoes up." That actually meant piling them up into two huge shoe piles in the corners of my closet. I suppose its the thought that counts. And I suppose they get their shoe fetish honestly! It's a girl thing.
And Finally here is a picture of my angels playing "Necia" or to those of you who don't get it "Hair Dresser." Maggie, in the front, has on a little house coat the goes to one of CP's teddy bears. It's on backwards b/c its her "cape" to keep the hair off of her clothes. Smart little boogers aren't they?
One last thing. We had to run out to Belk yesterday b/c I was a doofus and forgot my shirts while in Bham. While we were there with the twins, a nice older couple stopped and said, "Oh look its little twins" to which our Maggie puts her arms out and says, "TA DA!" Oh the memories we have. Have a great week everyone and keep the prayers coming. I have a feeling we will be needing them for the next few weeks!!!!

Our Country's Birthday

After our great day at home we ventured out to Downtown Tuscaloosa for the fireworks show. They have a family oriented area that we checked out too. The girls jumped in a "jumpoline" and we walked around. There was a really big fire engine there too. It was nice getting out and about but we missed our fireworks buddies this year since they were at the beach (the Lawson crew) so we enlisted Nana & Pappy!! The girls did great until the fireworks actually started. Then they retreated to Nana's van. The noise was a little too loud for my sound sensitive munchkins. Mommy, Daddy, Nana and Pappy enjoyed them though. Tuscaloosa actually puts on a pretty good show each year. This is our 3rd or 4th year going to the Fireworks show here. And without any disrespect we do hope its our last since we are still waiting for someone to make an offer on the house. Keep on praying that it sells soon. Anyway, on the way home Clara Paige had lots of questions about our country's Independence day and why we shot fireworks and why they were hot and on and on. The easiest explanation was that it was our country's birthday. I think she kinda got it after that. Not sure if she ever got the idea of what fireworks really are though.
We had a pretty interesting weekend also I guess you could say. Friday I went to B'ham to get the skirt altered that I am wearing in Emily Jone's wedding in August. After that we went to Aldridge Park to meet up with our good buddies Rachel, Emily and Bailey. We thought it would be a good time for me and Rach to catch up and let the girls wander around and play. Needless to say, we were sooooo wrong. The trip just seemed doomed. Clara Paige had some tummy troubles, Bailey re-arranged some of the plant markers and we had no idea where to put the Caloomba Peritus sign or whatever the little maker said, several girls cut their fingers on a dried up plant and poor little Gracie dropped a really large flat rock on her big toe. It was pretty awful. That pretty much ended the play date pretty quickly. It's all blue and swollen but after nursing it pretty heavily on Saturday my little trooper decided she was tired of missing out on all the playing so she learned that she could hobble along and keep up with her sissies. Its not broken so I think she's gonna be just fine but wow what a day at the Park!! Today we just hung out at the house and Daddy cut grass. It was nice not having a big weekend planned. Now on to see what this week will hold for the Hicks family. Love to all!!!

We had a great 4th of July. We spent a relaxed day with my parents and brother and even Kelsey came down to visit since she pretty much lives at mom and dad's now. (So we can show the house easier!) The weather was perfect. It wasn't too hot at all. Our neighbor, Sidney, came over and played in our little purple swimming pool for a little while. We grilled chicken and ribs. We all ate and ate and ate. Way too much but it was good. Then it was on to the Fireworks show.........

Here's a picture of what Al and Lump look like after riding. Nice huh?
Alex looks likes he's been in battle in Iraq or something. One thing is for sure; they had fun.
Yesterday my lovely little angels were back at work finding something to destroy. This time it was the pitiful little rubber tree plant from my bedroom. I had put it outside to see if it would perk up and it did. Or well it had till Dr. CP and her associates went to work on it. Needless to say, it has NO leaves anymore at all. Mom said they had fun though. I'm not sure if that makes it ok but they should do good in science when it comes to the anatomy of a plant.
The last picture is from last night. We FINALLY got some great rain that we so deperately needed. My water meter can take a break for a while. However, as I've stated before, my twinnies do NOT like "tunda" as they call it. They get really scared and anxious. As you can see Mags had to bury herself under a blanket in my lap. She covered her entire head but then realized that she couldn't see the TV that way so made a little hole for her face. What a hoot!!!
Tomorrow is the
4th of July so I'm sure we'll have some more stories to share. Take care everyone and be safe around fireworks.

This past weekend was a fun filled one. We went to Meme and Papaw's on Saturday and hung out. As you can see Clara Paige and the twins had fun dressing up and playing with their guitars. I think I may have a little country music trio on my hands. Clara on the mic, Mags on the fiddle and Gracie on the electric guitar. Got any good names for our little band??
We also went swimming at Meme's and Papaws before the nice rain storm came. The twins didnt like that too much b/c they are scared of thunder. Actually Maggie fell asleep in
PawPaw's lap. We spent the night there and went to church to with them on Sunday. CP went to Hamilton with Wendy and everyone to take Jackson to camp.
Then we went to Uncle Lumpy's. Daddy and Uncle Lumpy went riding their 4 wheelers and me and the twins hung out at Lumpy's house. All in all it was a good weekend.
