Verse of the Day

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26

I have several things to tell you but maybe tomorrow I'll actually get it done. See you then.

Valentines

Ok so it was almost a week ago but we had such a nice V-day that I had to share.

CP loves her chocolate!
I made cute little heart shaped eggs in toast. The girls loved it and it was easy.

M&G digging into their goody baskets!

We also made Valentine's cupcakes. My girlies are good at icing! Who knew?!

Alex had to work so me and Nana and the girls spent the day together. We made a quick stop by Elmwood where my dad is buried. I had not been there since my B'day. It was kinda hard but I'm glad we did and took the girls with us.

Mom (Nana) treated us to The Cheesecake Factory (Yummy) for our V-day lunch.

Here are Mags and CP during our lunch. CP is staring at the Lawsons b/c we ran into them while there. What a coincidence since they live in T-town.
Thanks Nana for the great day!!
I would have given you more detail but remember my keyboard is "challenged" at the moment!
Have a great weekend!

Quick Update

I haven't forgotten you. I have Valentines to update you on and other things. Just been neglecting the blog I suppose. Still having keyboard issues at home. It's hard to type with a wounded space-bar and a disabled "c" key.

To hold you over, here's a cute picture of my girlies Mrs. Shirley Vines took last Sunday. We were leaving Sarris' Restaurant after church. My girls love to go there and even ask during church if it is open. Mrs. Vines took this picture with her IPhone. I was very impressed with the quality. My pictures from my phone are terribly disappointing. Anyway, have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Alex!

Today is my Alex's birthday. He will be 35 today. It doesn't seem like it but I've been with Alex over half my life now. We were mere kids when we met and began to date. He is so full of life and always full of energy. I found a couple of pictures that kind of capture Alex for me.

He is an excellent father to our girls and getting better every day. They are so lucky to have him to protect and lead them as they grow up. Watch out boys, one day he'll be ready for you as you ask our daughters out on dates!! They mean the world to him.

He is an avid and die hard Auburn fan in every sense of the word. His loyalty to our alma mater is heart felt and passionate. Qualities he exemplifies in every aspect of his life. He enjoys it most with us, his family, there along side him rooting on our Tigers. War Eagle baby!

And finally he is my very best life long friend and husband. I love him more everyday. I depend on his strength and companionship daily. I am lead by his spirit, devotion and love for Christ also. I am very lucky!
I love you baby! Hope you have a wonderful birthday today!

Hi everyone! I know it's almost been a week since my last post. Well I haven't gone MIA yet. Actually, our laptop has some keyboard issues right now so it's very aggravating to post anything. I'm typing from work right now so can't say too much. We have been busy lately. Last weekend CP and I went to Emma Lawson's 8th B'day sleepover. All I can say is whew. I was exhausted after that. A bunch of 8 year old girls and my 6 year old almost did me and Kim in but it was still fun. You'll have to go to her site for pics of that. I promise to get back up and running but probably just won't have as many posts as often until I can figure out this keyboard situation. It's no fun typing when the space bar doesn't work half the time. Anyway, enjoy your week and I'll talk at you all
soon!
ps- Alex's b'day is tomorrow! He'll be 35!! I just can't believe that. We've been together for pretty much 20 years now. Seems like we should still be teenagers going on dates. (Nah not really) Wish him Happy B'day if you see him!!

In the Spirit of Valentines

Just some quotes to fuel your thoughts for the day!

"Love feels no burden, thinks nothing of trouble, attempts what is above its strength, pleads no excuse of impossibility; for it thinks all things lawful for itself, and all things possible."
-Thomas Kempis (?)

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love and His kindness go on forever." -1 Chronicles 16:34

"Love is a noble act of self-giving, offering trust, faith, and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself, yet you don't become less of who you are; you end up being complete with your loved ones." -Irene

Happy HSM Bday Party to CP!

Yes it was a Very, Very High School Musical birthday party for my sweet Clara Paige. There was HSM music, pictures with the cast, megaphones, nachos & cheese and much more! We had a great time and she absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to everyone who took the time out of their Saturday to celebrate my baby's 6th birthday with us!

Here she is with her cake. It turned out better than I expected. Sam's is the way to go: Half a sheet cake for under $30 AND it was good.

Me and one of my best buddies in my life. I only hope that 20 years from now when she's 26 she'll still want her mom around like she does now!! Love you baby girl!

Here' s a candid shot of the adult crowd hanging out.

Present time was fun but kinda chaos as usual. Clara loved all of her gifts from her friends.

One of her favorite gifts was her "Jon & Kate + Eight" season 1&2 DVDs. In case you didn't know, my little angel LOVES her some Jon & Kate. She will ask us 5 or 6 times a week if it's going to come on that day. It's kinda cute how much she loves them and now she can watch them anytime she wishes!

And last but not least here she is with the next birthday boy of the day. Right after our party was Tyler Pruitt's superheros birthday party. Who knew a church gym could be transformed so quickly from a high school basketball gym into the bat cave.

MONDAYS

Well, I think I'll let Gracie explain to you what happened on the way to Nana's house this past Monday.

In case you didn't get all of that, YES, I did get a speeding ticket. My first one ever. Hope it's not the start of a new trend in my life. It was on a side road I don't usually take and probably won't again for quite a while. I would have never guessed that the speed limit on that road is 30 MPH. I popped over a little hill and probably just got into Pelham from Helena and there he was. Pelham officers do not give "warnings" so I knew what was coming. He was nice enough. It was short and sweet and he was off back to his little hiding place to catch the next unsuspecting citizen. Bet he made the city of Pelham plenty of $$ that day. SO, drive the limit and don't "Go Speed" as Gracie says.
And should you not believe me below is the proof. I haven't called to see how much it is yet. I'm kinda scared to know. Have a great weekend everyone and obey the laws of the road or you'll get a ticket.

Something to Think About

Here I go again with the song lyrics but I heard this one on the way to work today and well it really makes a lot of sense in this crazy world we are all living in these days. Just felt like it was thought provoking. It's time to get back to the simple things in life and focus on Faith and Family. If ya really know me you know that I strongly believe in this. Have a nice day everyone. I'll share my Monday with you tomorrow. Whoo Hoo was it a fun one.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:20,21

American Dream lyrics

All work no play may have made Jack a dull boy
But all work no God has left Jack with a lost soul
But he's moving on full steam
He's chasing the American dream
And he's gonna give his family the finer things

Not this time son I've no time to waste
Maybe tomorrow we'll have time to play
And then he slips into his new BMW
And drives farther and farther and farther away

So He works all day and tries to sleep at night
He says things will get better;
Better in time

And he works and he builds with his own two hands
And he pours all he has in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are comin' crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

His American Dream is beginning to seem
More and more like a nightmare
With every passing day
"Daddy, can you come to my game?"
"Oh Baby, please don't work late."
Another wasted weekend
And they are slipping away

'Cause he works all day and lies awake at night
He tells them things will get better
It'll just take a little more time

He used to say, "Whoever dies with the most toys wins"
But if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end
I'll take a shack on the rock
Over a castle in the sand
Now he works all day and cries alone at night
It's not getting any better
Looks like he's running out of time
'Cause he worked and he built with his own two hands
And he poured all he had in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are coming crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands

All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You
All they really wanted was You

Ping Pong & Good Friends

So last weekend we got together with our wonderful neighbors, the Vegters. The Big Boys played Ping Pong like Forest Gump Champions and the little guys and dolls played all over the place. AND except for the first picture I did none of the camera work. My eldest little lady, Clara Paige was the photographer and the cinematographer for the whole event.

Ok so in a few years this won't be ok with us parents right now it's just buddies hanging out watchin some good Noggin TV.

Clara got a shot of Nicholas getting in some serious tread time on the tread mill.

Here's Ping Pong Pro Mr. Todd in his ready to play stance.

And here's Ping Pong Pro Mr. Alex in mid pong swing motion. Look at that form!
And below is a little video clip for your viewing pleasure hosted by our own little Miss Clara Paige. It's a hoot if you can stand the topsy turvey camera action.

Yep, She's 6 Already!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY ANGEL!!

My baby girl is 6 years old today. Well she will be at 8:23 pm tonight. I can't believe that it's been six whole years since Alex & I began our journey into parenthood. Whew! It doesn't seem like it's been that long but it's definitely been interesting and full of fun. Clara Paige is a delight and full of energy and life. If you didn't know us back then you might not believe she was born with BLACK and CURLY hair. Maybe I'll post some of those soon pics soon for posterity's sake. She was then and is now beautiful on the inside and out.

Here she is with her b'day morning goodies. Her party isn't until next weekend so I couldn't let her go through the day w/out some kind of celebration. Birthdays were always special days in my house growing up and so I want them to be for my girls also. One of the best blessings God has ever given me is the ability to be a wife and mom. My memories of carrying Clara Paige and giving birth to her are priceless to me. She's my angel! I love you baby girl and I know Pappy's smiling down on you today to make your day extra special.

"I don't need no one to tell me about heaven
I look at my daughter, and I believe.
I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sunset and I perceive." - Live
