I'm Definitely not the next Food Network Star!

One Pizza Dough - $3.00
Pizza Toppings - $5.00

Three Adorable Chef Assistants - $ Priceless
One Burnt Pizza - Hilarious!!!

Seriously I tried. I can cook but I'm not an expert and well, I followed the instructions but it was still overdone. I thought I would have a fun experience with the girls. All I can say is that it was the experience that was good and fun for them not the end result! They did NOT want to even try it!!
So I'm guessing you all won't be asking me over to cook Pizza anytime soon.

Dave, I must need some lessons from the master!

Prayers please!!

On a very sad note - the man that I worked most closely with at my job passed away yesterday. I am still in a little shock over it. Please put his family in your prayers! His name is Bill Eason and he was always very good to me! He will be missed greatly.

What are they doing?? You may ask....

Best quote from this moment: Alex to Todd- "What are you doing man, except holding my hand?"
Well, I bought some new light fixtures for our home SEVERAL months ago. So what does my lovely and ever busy husband decide to do last weekend? Yep hang the one in the foyer. If you have never been in my home, it is a split level with high ceilings therefore making it very difficult to get to the actual ceiling. SOOOOOOO, long, funny story short, he enlisted our wonderful and patient neighbor, Todd, for some help. Oh how he had no idea what he was getting into. Todd's ladder is actually on our STEPS. But luckily they have a "Little Giant" ladder that will adjust to different levels. It was very scary and well amusing at the same time. You will also see Todd's sweetheart of a wife holding the ladders while I took the picture. Once the light was hung they had to figure out how to actually get the glass fixture on. At one point they were both holding the light and just kinda looking at each other hence the quote from above. Maybe it was a "you had to be there" moment but it was worth sharing anyway.
So, its safe to say that we owe Todd and Wendi, so we are keeping their adorable little boys for them tomorrow morning while they go pick up their new pop-up camper.
Like a good neighbor, Todd and Wendi are there!! heeheee. Get it???
That one's for you guys Wen & Todd.

Dodson Twin Update

Here they are.
By popular demand, here is a picture of the Dodson Twins. Thanks Daddy Dodson for sending me the picture.
Joshua is on the left and Nathaniel is on the right.
Here are their stats:
Josh 7/21/08 7:49 6 lbs 10 ozs 20.25 inchs
Nate 7/21/08 7:50 6 lbs 2 ozs 20 inchs
Good sized boys for 4 weeks early, huh??
Rach is doing great but just worn out from all the hospital stuff especially for two babies. Oh, I remember those days. The babies are fine but are in the NICU for observation. No real problems though. Do keep them in mind, b/c I know they want to take them home with them if they can. If not then it shouldn't be too long.
For those of you who may need some back dating - Rachel Miller Dodson is my oldest and dearest friend. Never in a million years would I have thought that we both would have a set of twins. There are now SEVEN children between us. Josh and Nate are the only boys in that crew so they better be tough little boys to keep up with Emily, Bailey, Clara Paige, Maggie and Gracie. Anywho, it's been interesting to say the least and I'm sure both of our families (g-parents included) are in for a future full of many a twin adventure or two.

Summer Swimming!!

My girls spent Friday night with MeMe and PawPaw and were all 3 little water bugs!! I am so proud of my Gracie Goose and Mags especially for swimming around in their little rings and swimmies. This is the first time they haven't clung to someone the whole time. I'm so happy they are beginning to love the water. Now I guess it's on to swimming lessons sometime!!!

BTW- My BFF, Rachel, had her twin boys this morning. They are all fine and I'm sure I'll have more on that later.

Mommy Moment: Last night before Gracie Goose went to sleep and we were sharing the big chair she says, "Mommy, you are the greatest mommy in the world!"
Makes it all worth it!!

A cute little video

OK here's a quick video of the energy our kidos had at Demetri's BBQ the night of the 4th of July. This was probably an hour or two before the fireworks show. I'm not sure that it's exactly patriotic to let your flags be thrust up into the air and the soar to the ground but the kids were having a load of fun. Well most of them were. Enjoy!!!

I will return soon with a great slide show for you so please keep checking back.

Thoughts for the Day

I Am a "Kept" Woman.

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
but GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer,
but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me
wrong,
but the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,
but GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car
paid,
the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34)

When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up.
When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong!
(I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)

I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me!
I'm blessed to be "kept."

Are you...or do you know a "kept" woman?
If so pass it on to her to let her know she is
"Kept"
I love you all! Have a nice day!

The Airshow

Here's some shots from our excursion to Huntsville a couple of weekends ago to see the airshow. It was sooo much fun. We went with our neighbors, The Vegters and had a blast. Apparently, everyone in north Alabama was there too b/c the interstate was backed up pretty bad but once we got in it was lots of fun. The girls and Alex went into the really big plane. The Blue Angels were there and they were the best! It was a wonderful day with good friends. Alex did have to take the twins back to the van early but he said that the view from our van was actually better than where the rest of us were.

Hodgepodge

ok, so I've got to catch up on blogging. I've told you guys we've been busy and well we have. Here's just a few pictures from the last several weeks and I still have the airshow and the 4th to post. Enjoy and hope everyone had a blast on the 4th!

These were taken at Veteran's Park just a few miles from our house. It's a great place to take the girls for a quick trip to the playground and for a walk.
Sister love!!
This is just a random picture from a typical day at our house. What a bunch of bathing beauties! Like the shades?
I didn't get an actual picture of Em's bday party but she came home with us afterward and spent the night with us. Her mommy is my very best friend, Rachel, who is expecting twins very soon so after helping out with Emily's spend the night party I toted Em home with us and the girls had a blast.
Even Kelsey dog wanted to be part of the sleep-over.
Here's part of the crew for Bailey's (Emily's little sister) party the very next weekend. We had a great party at the Trussville park.
Sweet baby Ansley(Emily and Bailey's cousin) and her mommy Alison.
And the best part opening presents!!
More to come soon...........

Princess Party

A week or so ago our church had a fun night for the kidos. The girls got to have a Princess Party. Mom (Nana) took them and now I wish I had gone too. They wore their Cinderella gown/princess dresses that we got from Disney World. They did lots of fun stuff like getting princess hair, making crowns, cupcakes and even visiting with Snow White. Mom said if Maggie hugged Snow White one time she did 5 or 6. They had a wonderful time!

What a royal family of princesses!
Gracie Goose dancing away
Maggie and her pretty princess hair
Clara Paige Dancing to Disney and Miley Cyrus!

BTW - I registered CP for school this week and it has hit my heart heavy that my baby girl will be in Kindergarten in just a few mere weeks. I know she is so ready and excited but Mommy may need some tissues for sure!
