the "SNOW" of 2008

Well we got a little bit of snow when the "blizzard" blew through the state of Alabama. Here are the twins in their first snow. No the AU was not placed in the picture strategically. Just coincidence. Look at my little snow birds.

And it was Clara Paige's first snow too. It was pretty for a few hours at our house. I guess it will be practice for our trip to Gatlinburg next week. I hope it snows a little bit while we are there.

And believe it or not it was Kelsey dog's first snow too. She's amost eight years old and had never seen snow. She really didn't seem to care too much.

At least I have a few pictures of our house and family in the great snow of 2008. Ha!

Introducing the infamous Baby Mitchell (Michael).
Please welcome to our family little baby Mitchell. Proud mama is Clara Paige Hicks. Grandparents are Alex & Michele Hicks. Proud aunts are Maggie and Gracie Hicks. We aren't sure where the red hair came from, maybe Granny. I know many of you have been eager to see him so CP took this picture of him resting in his stroller. He's the best kind of baby. He sleeps all the time, never cries and never has to be changed.
I hear Baby Mitchell fever is spreading and that Emma Lawson has requested one for her birthday. Who would have thought?????? Anyway, now you all have seen him and the suspense is over.

Mommy is so happy you came to do lunch with me today for your birthday. I hope you enjoyed it and that you always know how special you are to us.
Clara Paige is now 5 years old and Mommy is having a Hard time with it! Where is that baby girl with all the black curly hair? She's a beautiful young lady! I'm scared to blink b/c if I do she'll be grown.
We love you very much little lady.

Clara and Her Hannah Party!!

Well it turned out to be a great Party after all. Clara Paige absolutely had such a wonderful time at her 5th birthday party! She even got a Hannah Montana cake with a guitar decoration that had lip gloss in it. How fancy is that?? And she blew out all the candles at once. My baby is growing up and I can't tell eveyone how much I appreciate them coming out to our house on a Friday night to party with us!

All the girls really enjoyed watching Clara open her presents. She got lots of wonderful stuff from everyone. She received a bunch of Hannah Montana things so it really was a Hannah Party. Kim, I need to know where you got the cool Hannah soft pillow diary!! She even got her Baby Mitchell that she had begged her MeMe for. I'll have to take a special picture of him for everyone to see. He's well um interesting, but my baby girl loves him to death so I guess I do too!!

I even got into the spirit with my very own Hannah shirt!! Can ya believe it?? The things a mommy will do for her children! By the way this is Gracie Goose posing with me! Aren't we cute "twinkies"?

And here's the spend the night crew minus Bailey b/c she was upstairs with her momma. I could not have asked for a better bunch of sweethearts. They were all so great. They laid on their cinderella beds and watched High School Musical 2 (thanks Nana!) until they all fell asleep. I survived and so did they. It wasn't nearly as crazy as I thought it would be.

Best of Both Worlds...

In case you didn't know Hannah Montana now lives in our household. And she just had her Hannah Montana 5 year old Sleepover Birthday Party!! It was wonderful dispite some threatening snow storm that almost kept some away. I can assure you that our Pop Star Princess had an award winning time with her friends and family. Thank you so very much to everyone who took the time to come on a Friday evening. It is a joy and a pleasure to have everyone celebrate our angel's special day.

So it's Snow in the Forecast.....

Well they say it's going to Snow Friday night here in Birmingham. That's usually fun and exciting news for a 4 year old but you see well that is when Clara Paige's Hannah Montana Sleepover Birthday Party is! I am moving ahead with the Party and we will just make a game time decision for the Sleep-over but it is just so hard to disappoint your child when they have looked forward to something for so long!

My baby girl will be 5 years old next Wednesday and I just can't believe it. And it figures that it would snow on her party b/c if any of you remember, she was born on the very COLDEST day in history it seemed like. She was so tiny with so much black curly hair. My how time flies and so many moments in her life have become such treasured memories to us!

I'll be sure to give an update on how the Party turns out!

More thoughts by Maggie.....

Yesterday Mom heard Maggie on the fax line so she was on her way in to fuss at her and get her off the line and she heard, "And thank you for the beautiful day." Mom asked her to get off the phone and my Mags replied in her matter-of-fact way, "I was Talkin to God!!"

Tonight while we were waiting out the storm in the basement me and the girls were lying down watching TV. Maggie rolled over and looked me right in the face. It was a quiet and sweet moment. I simply said, "Hey Angel-face" to which Mags replies, "Hey Mommy-Face." Too precious!

Well I realized I had not shared any photos from Christmas morning so here they are. Here we are just taking it all in before we dig in!

Our Gracie sure is a puzzle maniac. She LOVES them. She practically put this one together by herself.

Everyone loves getting their stockings. The girls especially liked the candy that they found. Even Kelsey gets a stocking at our house.

Over all we had a wonderful Christmas Holiday dispite all the drama we went through in December. Here's to 2008 and a new year to conquer with my family beside me!
